The plate on the MV224 is 19.7 inches wide and made of Hardox 400 steel with a hardness of 400 HBW (Brinell Hardness), which the company says allows it to resist wear while maintaining good “bendability.”
“Our forward and reversible plate compactors are engineered with the operator in mind, from vibration dampening handles for less fatigue on the job to simplified service and maintenance,” says Darrell Engle, Chicago Pneumatic product manager for light compaction and concrete. “The MV224 is incredibly durable on the job with a high speed engine. It will get the job done quickly and efficiently.”
The MV224 is a gasoline model featuring a Honda engine, and delivers close to 8,100 pounds of centrifugal force at 3,500 vibrations per minute and speeds up to 82 feet per minute.
