Choosing a Snowblower
There are several factors to consider when choosing a Snowblower.

What type of surface do you need to clear?
Any snowblower will perform well on concrete or asphalt surfaces. When properly adjusted, two stage snowblowers are perfect for gravel or mixed surfaces. Commercial flat roofs need adjustable head track drive models.

Do you need to clear packed snow, like a snowbank, or driven over snow?
If you answered yes, consider a track drive model. Track drive makes clearing packed snow much easier.

How large of an area do you need to clear?
A larger clearing width makes it faster to clear an area. As a general rule of thumb, a single stage snow blower, like the Honda HS520, is great for clearing smaller areas, such as 1-2 car driveways and sidewalks. Consider a two stage snowblower for larger areas, particularly if your area receives frequent and heavy snowfall.

Track vs Wheel?
MB Tractor carries two stage snowblowers offer you the choice of wheel and track drive models.

Track drive offers superior traction through any snow condition. These models grip the ground, making moving up and down inclines easier. As we mentioned above, track models are also preferable for clearing packed snow, as well as commercial flat roofs.

Wheel models are somewhat easier to turn and maneuver. Consider a wheel model for flat surfaces, or if traction is not an issue.

Electric Start vs Recoil?
Honda's HS520 snowblowers offer premium residential engines, while all our two stage snowblowers feature our legendary commercial grade engines. Honda engines are consistently recognized by professionals and consumers alike for easy starting, even in cold conditions. As a result, recoil start is convenient and easy.

However, some customers prefer to use electric start. Simply plug in an extension cord, start the snowblower, unplug, and go! Electric start models also offer recoil start as a back up.
